What is Life Coaching?
Let’s make no bones about it, Life Coaching as defined in the Co-Active model is all about your big agenda. Your big agenda may include creating more wealth in your life, a new relationship, or a new career move, and all these things are important in living a more fulfilled life. Yet, what it will include above all else, is you revealing your magnificent, authentic Self, without apology. It is this True Self, this best Self, which is your ultimate destination, or other side to reach. It is in the acceptance of this best Self, in which true happiness can be found.
How does Life Coaching work?
It’s not a coach’s job to provide you with answers. The Co-Active model believes you already have these in abundance. It’s the coach’s job to ask the right questions, and listen keenly without analysis or judgment, so you can clearly identify the choices that will empower you to move towards a more fulfilled life.
“Nick is an insightful and compassionate coach that is gifted at creating a powerful learning environment of spaciousness, depth and tangible goals. He raises the bar gently but persuasively by demanding his clients step into the best of what they have to offer. I always leave the coaching sessions with Nick feeling invigorated, inspired and focused to make the important and sometimes difficult changes in my life.” Sukhy Bains, Sukhy Bains Associates.
Along the way you will access the values underlying your best Self, the vision that best expresses it, and the ability to tap into its endless passion and enthusiasm.
How does it work in practice?
Life Coaching can be conducted face to face or on the phone. Sessions usually last between 40 minutes and 1 hour. Additional email support is also possible.
It’s recommended you have at least 2 sessions a month, for a minimum of 3 months and ideally 6 months.

I offer a free, no quibble, 30 minute consultation, during which you can experience directly how I work. To contact me now to arrange your free session. +44 208 123 1089, +44 7787 778317, or by email via the contact page.
What’s required of me, the client?
You simply require a desire or sense that a fuller more textured life is possible, or already within your grasp.
How is Life Coaching different from counseling or other therapeutic approaches?
Life Coaching focuses on the present and the future and is about revealing your full potential as a human being to make a difference in the world. Counseling focuses on the past and the present and is focused on how you came to be who you are.
What’s your experience as a coach?
In as much as a coach shares some of the same skill set as both journalists and therapists – intuition and curiosity, and a keen interest in other people – I’ve been a coach since 1992. In 2005 I discovered Co-Active coaching and realised quickly this is what I had been doing and aspiring to throughout my professional life. In 2008 I graduated from the Coaches Training Institute, as a Co-Active Coach.
However, the best indication of my experience is what my clients have to say about me. Click client testimonials from the menu above, to find out more. Or click here for a more comprehensive profile.
